Babson Venture Capital & Private Equity Club Newsletter: Nov 23, 2010

Announcements

This week we had our first VCIC training session with Professor Zacharakis on Valuation.  Zach described different ways to value an early-stage company as well as providing some insight into changes in the Venture Capital industry and valuation over the last few years.

VCIC will put you in front of real VCs and give you the chance to negotiate with real startups. If you are completely unfamiliar with the competition and need a place to start, you can learn more about it here: http://www.vcic.unc.edu/

Remember that after Thanksgiving, we will come back to David Gammell, the startup lawyer who negotiated term sheets for Hubspot, to walk us through the details of a deal, term by term.

Still need a team?  Have a team already?  Register your team and scout for talent by filling in your information to this Google Doc.

Past participants note: Unless you have been to the regional competition, you are still eligible to compete.  You can compete in the Babson competition as many times as you want.

If you know anyone who is interested in the club, anyone can join our mailing list by sending a blank email to join-bvcpe@listserv.babson.edu.
